A 24-year-old woman constable of the Border Security Force (BSF) was found dead in her room at the force’s frontier headquarters in Paloura here on Monday, officials said.

The deceased, a resident of West Bengal, was undergoing a three-month lab assistant course that began on May 25, they added.

“She was staying in official accommodation allotted to her,” said a police officer.

Her body was shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination, the official said.

The cause of death is yet to be ascertained. Police have initiated inquest proceedings and further investigation is underway.
