Justice Palli inspects Ludhiana district courts
During the inspection, Justice Arun Palli examined the functioning of all civil and criminal courts, reviewed annual records, and assessed case backlog
Justice Arun Palli, judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and inspecting judge of sessions division, Ludhiana, conducted the annual inspection of district courts on March 25 and 26. His visit focused on evaluating judicial efficiency, reviewing case pendency, and assessing court operations.

During the inspection, Palli examined the functioning of all civil and criminal courts, reviewed annual records, and assessed case backlog. He also held discussions with judicial officers, issuing guidelines to improve case management and court efficiency.
He was welcomed by district and sessions judge Harpreet Kaur Randhawa, along with judicial officers, district administration officials, and district bar association representatives, including president Vipin Sagar and secretary Himanshu Walia.
In a meeting with local lawyers, he listened to their concerns regarding judicial delays and infrastructure challenges. He urged them to cooperate with the judiciary to ensure speedy disposal of pending cases.
As part of his inspection, Justice Palli visited central jail, women’s jail, and borstal jail in Ludhiana. He inaugurated an activity room at central jail and a skill development centre at borstal jail, aimed at rehabilitating inmates. In an environmental initiative, he also planted saplings inside the jail premises.
During his visit, he interacted with inmates, listened to their grievances, and informed them about free legal aid schemes. He also assessed food quality, drinking water facilities, cleanliness of barracks, and other essential amenities to ensure better living conditions for prisoners.
Palli also highlighted the importance of timely case resolution and emphasised legal support for underprivileged prisoners. Officials stated that the inspections were aimed at improving court operations and ensuring better facilities in correctional institutions.
The visit concluded with discussions on enhancing legal services, expediting case hearings, and strengthening judicial transparency in Ludhiana district.
