A team of anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested an employee working at the deputy commissioner’s office in Karnal with ₹10,000 bribe.

The accused, Anil Kumar, was posted as assistant with the receipt and dispatch (RKE) branch on the first floor of the mini secretariat.

ACB’s Karnal range in-charge Sultan Singh said that Kumar had demanded ₹3.5 lakh as bribe for completing all the formalities and ensure that the complainant’s arm license is made.
“He had taken ₹10,000 earlier and was taking another instalment, when he was arrested red-handed at his office. He will be presented before a court,” Singh added.
