The revenue officer allegedly took a bribe of Rs 1.10 crore from a real estate developer from Uppal to settle a dispute pertaining to 19.39 acres of agricultural land at Rampally Dayara village on the outskirts of Hyderabd.

Governor Malik ordered the probe on a spate of complaints of cornering prime pieces of land by irregular or fraudulent implementation of the now repealed law, which had been enacted to tackle encroachments by giving land rights to its occupants on payment of market price.

The girl’s neighbour, in a bid to help her, approached Deepali Pawar (45), who worked as a clerk at the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana cell in Ulhasnagar tehsil office here, the ACB said in a release issued on Sunday.

The state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against the management and officials of J&K Bank in connection with alleged financial irregularities and loan fraud to the tune of 177 crore, according to a statement issued by the ACB.
