Labourer killed by relative in riverside brawl in Pinjore

The victim has been identified as Ravi, a native of Uttar Pradesh who worked as a labourer here. He is survived by his wife and three children.

A 32-year-old labourer was allegedly murdered by his relative following a brawl near the Ghaggar river in Nada village of Pinjore on Friday night.

The victim has been identified as Ravi, a native of Uttar Pradesh who worked as a labourer here. He is survived by his wife and three children.

According to the police, the incident took place around 9 pm when Ravi, his brother Bunty and Bunty’s brother-in-law Vicky were sitting near the Ghaggar river. An argument broke out between Ravi and Bunty following which the latter left the spot.

Police said Vicky allegedly continued arguing with Ravi and provoked him, following which the verbal altercation escalated into a physical fight. During the scuffle, Vicky allegedly attacked Ravi with a sharp-edged weapon, causing critical injuries.

Ravi was immediately rushed to the civil hospital in Sector 6, Panchkula, where doctors declared him dead.

Based on the complaint, Chandimandir police have registered a case of murder and launched a search for the accused, who remains at large.
