Aanya Tiwari of DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, brought laurels to Ludhiana by emerging as the winner in both the girls’ under-11 singles and doubles categories at the mini Punjab state badminton ranking tournament held in Barnala from June 5 to 7.
Organised by the Barnala Badminton Association, the tournament witnessed participation from nearly 300 young shuttlers from across Punjab, making the competition highly competitive.
Aanya displayed remarkable skill, determination and consistency throughout the event to secure the coveted double title. Her impressive performance in both singles and doubles events highlighted her growing stature as one of the state’s promising young badminton players.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Amritpal Singh Sukhanand, the member of legislative assembly from the Bagha Purana assembly constituency, who felicitated the winners and encouraged the young athletes to continue pursuing excellence in sports.
