The municipal corporation on Tuesday sealed six buildings across the city, including illegal structures and properties with unpaid dues, officials said.
Of the six properties, one is located on Malhar Road, two in BRS Nagar, two including a hotel on Ferozepur Road, and one on Dugri Road. The action was carried out by the building branch of MC Zone D under the directions of municipal corporation commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal.
Assistant town planner Harvinder Singh said the owners had not submitted dues, including change of land use (CLU) charges, and had previously raised illegal constructions. “The buildings have now been sealed and the owners have been directed to clear their dues with the civic body,” he added.
Commissioner Dachalwal had recently instructed officials to expedite recovery of pending charges and take strict action against illegal constructions. “Failure to act will invite departmental penalties,” he had warned.
