Ludhiana: Voter verification to start on June 25 in district

Each BLO has been assigned around 300 households and nearly 1,200 voters and will visit every household three times to ensure maximum coverage

Ludhiana The district administration has deployed more than 3,000 officials for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with a month-long house-to-house verification exercise scheduled from June 25 to July 24.

A total of 2,927 booth-level officers (BLOs), 292 supervisors, 14 electoral registration officers (EROs), 28 assistant electoral registration officers (AEROs), 70 additional AEROs and supporting staff have been assigned to carry out the exercise across the district. Officials distributed BLO kits on Sunday to facilitate field operations.

During the drive, BLOs will distribute and collect enumeration forms, verify voter details, digitise records through the BLO app and prepare lists of absent, shifted, dead or duplicate voters. Special attention will be given to unmapped voters whose records could not be linked during earlier verification.
