A man from Doda was critically injured after two assailants attacked him with sharp-edged weapons at Jammu Bus Stand late on Friday.
The victim was identified as Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Doda.
Owing to some old rivalry, the two assailants repeatedly attacked Kumar on his head, arms, and other parts of his body, leaving him severely injured.
After the initial assault, the accused fled the spot but returned nearly one-and-a-half hours later and attacked the victim again.
The victim was later shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu where his condition is stated to be critical.
Police have arrested two accused, identified as Nikhil Hans of Dogra Hall and Rishabh Kumar of Bakshi Nagar. A scooty and the sharp-edged weapons allegedly used in the attack have also been recovered.
A case under section 109 of the BNS has been registered at Bus Stand police station.
