Man kills brother, sister-in-law over land dispute in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua, arrested

A man axed to death his younger brother and his sister-in-law over a land dispute at a village in the Marheen area of Kathua district on Tuesday morning, said officials. The accused was identified as Raj Kumar, 36, of Lade Chak village. Rajbagh SHO inspector Amit Sangra said, “The accused attacked his younger brother Naresh Kumar, 32, and his sister-in-law Asha, 26, at their residence around 11.30 am with a “darat” (a sharp-edged weapon used for cutting woods)”.

They had a dispute over a piece of land since 2016, he added. The victims had a minor son and a three-month-old daughter, he informed. The officer said that the accused was arrested and booked under Section 302 of the IPC.
