In what seems to be a case of enmity, unidentified persons allegedly chopped off the hands of a man, when he was having food at a roadside eatery on the NH 44 near Pipli town of Kurukshetra district, police said on Monday.

The accused also took both the hands along and fled the spot after injuring the man.
As per eye witnesses, the incident took place on Monday afternoon when the victim Jugnu (30) was having lunch with his friend and almost one dozen masked persons carrying sharp-edged weapons attacked him and chopped off his hands.
Kurukshetra deputy superintendent of police Ram Dutt said a police team reached the spot after they got information about the incident from the police control room. He said that the injured has been admitted at LNJP government hospital Kurukshetra.
During the preliminary investigation, it was found that the victim was attacked due to enmity and the police started the investigation to arrest the accused. He said that the FIR will be registered as per the statement of the victim.
Kurukshetra superintendent of police Surinder Singh Bhoria said they have got leads about the accused. He said it was also found out that the victim was involved in firing 8 to 10 gunshots at a liquor contractor at Assandh of Karnal in 2020.
