A 22-year-old man from Mansa, Anil Chauhan, who had been missing since October 19, was found dead in the forest area of Kajheri village, Chandigarh, on Monday. Police suspect the murder was the result of an old rivalry.

The case, which was initially registered as a missing person’s report at the Phase 8 police station on the complaint of Anil’s brother, Udesh Chauhan, but has now been converted into a murder case.
Officials said that during the investigation, four to five youths from Kajheri village were taken into custody for questioning. Based on their statements, the police recovered the victim’s body from the forest. Police officials said that legal formalities are being completed and that the suspects will soon be formally named and arrested.
