Additionally, a proposal to install a portable sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 500 KLD (kilolitres per day) was also approved. The contractor will be responsible for installation, commissioning and five years of maintenance of the plant. The total estimated cost of this project is approximately 3.61 crore.

During the meeting, tenders submitted by various companies for this work were also discussed.

Mayor Amarjit Singh Sidhu, who chaired the meeting, said, “Continuous planning is being carried out to strengthen sewerage, roads and other basic infrastructure across different parts of the city. The approved projects will be implemented on the ground soon so that residents can benefit at the earliest.”
