Khanna Police destroyed narcotics linked to 121 cases at a government incinerator in Mansa on Monday.

According to police, the contraband included 9.42 quintals of poppy husk, 10kg 100gm of ganja, 3.693kg of heroin, 1.880kg of ICE drug and 123gm of intoxicant powder. In addition, 39 kg of poppy seeds, 4,920 intoxicant tablets and 98 empty cloth bags used for storage were also incinerated.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Darpan Ahluwalia said the disposal was carried out as per legal procedures under the supervision of competent authorities. He said such actions form part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and move towards a drug-free society.
He also appealed to the public to share information on any suspicious narcotics-related activity, assuring that the identity of informants would be kept confidential. Police officials said similar drives would continue to ensure proper disposal of seized contraband and prevent its misuse.
The seized contraband includes poppy husk, heroin, ganja, ice drug and intoxicant tablets.
