Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited (CPDL) has launched a new consumer-friendly service allowing users to download duplicate electricity bills directly through the DigiLocker mobile application and website.

By providing their 14-digit account number, the consumers can instantly download their electricity bill.
Earlier, consumers could receive duplicate bills via WhatsApp or download them free of cost from CPDL’s official website, www.chandigarhpower.com.
Highlighting the initiative, Arun Kumar Verma, director, CPDL, said, “We want to ensure consumers have the convenience of downloading bills through multiple platforms.”
Before CPDL took over the electricity distribution system, consumers were required to visit SDO office and an e-Sampark Centre and pay ₹35 to obtain a duplicate bill. After the takeover, CPDL made this service completely free, further easing the process for consumers.
The CPDL website also allows Chandigarh residents to check their previous bills and track their past power consumption. Officials stated that the data has been displayed in an easy-to-understand graphical format, enabling consumers to compare their usage and bills effortlessly.
