Panchkula The National Institute of Ayurveda, Panchkula, has said that it has witnessed a significant rise in patient footfall. The institute has recorded nearly 50,000 outpatient department (OPD) visits in the first six months of the year, with more than 500 patients seeking treatment every day, it stated.

“The institute treated 42,030 patients in 2024. The number increased to 80,878 in 2025, registering a nearly 50% rise. Almost 50,000 patients have already availed treatment during the first half of the current year alone,” health officials said.

Medical officer Dr Mansi Grewal said the institute runs 12 specialty OPDs, including Prasuti Tantra and Stri Roga (obstetrics and gynaecology), Kaumarbhritya and paediatrics, Agad Tantra (toxicology), Twak Evam Saundarya (dermatology and cosmetology), Swasthavritta and yoga, besides emergency services. She said the steady increase in patient numbers highlights the growing acceptance of Ayurveda as an effective healthcare system.

Patients from Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and several other states are visiting the institute for specialised Ayurvedic treatment, the institute informed.
