Police have arrested the main accused, Ankit Sangwan, a resident of Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, in a kidnapping and extortion case registered at Mansa Devi Complex police station. He was arrested on Monday, with ₹10,000 cash, a silver bracelet, and two silver rings snatched from the victim were recovered from him.

The case surfaced on December 3, 2025, after a Ludhiana resident reported his brother-in-law Sandeep, a resident of Mansa Devi Complex, was missing since the night of December 2.
During investigation, suspicious bank transactions were detected, and information from Haridwar, led police to the victim, who was rescued. He revealed that he had been forcibly taken in a Scorpio vehicle from his workplace in Sector 9, and extorted.*
Police found that the accused had contacted and lured the victim through social media as part of a planned crime. Four co-accused—namely Ajay, Deepesh alias Deepu, Ashish alias Golu, and Ravi Kumar—were arrested earlier, and a chargesheet has already been filed against them. All are currently on bail. Police claimed the accused have also been involved in a similar crime in Gurugram.
