The district police arrested a man accused of murdering a daily wage labourer following a domestic dispute in the Nada Sahib area in Panchkula. The accused, identified as Vicky, a resident of Sambhal district in Uttar Pradesh, lived in a rented accommodation in Nada village.

According to police, 33-year-old Ravi suffered a fatal head injury during an altercation on the night of June 12. Based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s wife, a case under Section 103 (punishment of murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Chandimandir police station.

Police arrested the accused on June 13 and the weapon used in the crime was recovered from nearby bushes based on the accused’s disclosure.

Police said the incident stemmed from a minor dispute that escalated into violence. The accused was produced before a local court on Sunday and sent to judicial custody. Further investigation is underway.
