Even more significant was the 50% decline in rape cases, which fell from 27 in 2024 to 14 in 2025. Police officials attributed this success to the identification of “crime hotspots” and the strategic deployment of personnel in sensitive areas.

In the digital realm, while the total number of cybercrime cases dipped slightly to 156, the police nearly doubled their arrests, apprehending 173 cybercriminals.

The recovery rate saw a major boost, with 3.21 crore returned to victims, a substantial increase compared to the 1.35 crore recovered last year.

The Panchkula Police registered 124 NDPS cases and arrested 255 smugglers this year, significantly surpassing last year’s figures.

The scale of recovery was unprecedented: authorities seized 246 kg of poppy husk, 13 kg of opium, 1.93 kg of heroin, and over 17 kg of charas, alongside more than 20,000 intoxicate tablets.
