The Ferozepur range anti-narcotics task force (ANTF) arrested two drug smugglers and recovered 512 grams of Methamphetamine, commonly known as ‘ICE’ on Monday, officials said.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, ANTF teams laid a naka and intercepted the suspects, identified as Raj Singh alias Raju and Nisha Rani.
During the search, the police recovered 512 grams of ‘Ice’ from their possession. A bike allegedly being used for transporting the contraband was also seized.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Nisha Rani had been residing in Mohali for the past few months and was working at a private hospital. The agency is probing whether her job and stay were being used as a cover to run a high-value synthetic drug supply network in urban areas.
A case has been registered under Section 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station ANTF, SAS Nagar. Further investigations are underway to trace the forward and backward linkages of the racket and to identify other members of the drug smuggling network, officials added.
