Agri dept director visits Ludhiana ahead of kisan-sarkar milni

Ahead of the kisan-sarkar milni (farmer-government meeting) scheduled for Thursday, the director of Punjab agriculture department, Gurvinder Singh, visited Ludhiana on Wednesday to review the preparations for the event and the ongoing projects of the department in the district.

Gurvinder Singh and Ludhiana chief agriculture officer Narinder Singh Benipal visited demonstration plots of mungbean and maize in the fields of Sukhwant Singh at village Tharike. Singh expressed satisfaction about the ongoing works in the district.

He urged the farmers of the district to participate in meet, present their valuable suggestions and share the difficulties that they face. He said that farmers should contact the block agriculture officer, agricultural development officer or agricultural extension officer of their area to join the sarkar-kisan milni.

Notably, buses have been arranged for the farmers by the agriculture department for the event.
