Punjab: Former MLA Laddi joins AAP

The former Sri Hargobindpur MLA was inducted into the party in the presence of AAP’s Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia and state president Aman Arora, according to a party release

Former MLA Balwinder Singh Laddi switched over from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with his supporters on Tuesday. The former Sri Hargobindpur MLA was inducted into the party in the presence of AAP’s Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia and state president Aman Arora, according to a party release.

Welcoming him, they said Laddi’s experience and public connect would further strengthen the party organisation in the state. Elected to the Punjab assembly on a Congress ticket in 2017, Laddi joined the BJP in December 2021 but returned to the Congress within a few days. He rejoined the BJP in February 2022 and served as the general secretary of the BJP SC Morcha.

Laddi assured the AAP leadership that he would work with complete dedication to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level and take the government’s pro-people policies to every household in the state.
