Former Haryana minister and INLD patron Sampat Singh on Saturday demanded the immediate withdrawal of all bailable and non-bailable warrants against farmers involved in the 2020-21 agitation.

Singh reminded the state that the written agreement between the Centre and the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) at the end of the protests promised the dismissal of all related cases. He described the recent legal actions as an “authoritarian betrayal and a well-planned conspiracy” to silence agrarian voices.

The INLD leader highlighted a recent Hisar court order issuing a non-bailable warrant against Zila Parishad member Sandeep Dhiranwas and bailable warrants for a dozen others, including leader Anil Gaurchi.

The case dates back to a peaceful protest against a minister in Arya Nagar over the now-repealed farm laws. Singh alleged that the sudden revival of these four-year-old files at the Azad Nagar police station was scripted by the same minister. “Targeting these leaders years after a democratic movement is a breach of trust,” he added.
