Suspicious object found in Ganderbal, defused

After the recovery of suspicious objects/IEDs, the security along the highways and national highway has been stepped up across the Valley

Police on Friday neutralised a suspicious object at Safapora in Ganderbal district with this making the third such incident in last four days.

The police said that they are trying to ascertain whether the suspicious object was an IED or something else. The Safapora Ganderbal road was closed for traffic and the bomb disposal squad defused it in a controlled way, said officials.

After the recovery, the security along the highways and national highway has been stepped up across the Valley.

On Thursday security forces averted a tragedy after defused an IED at Janbazpora on the outskirts of the Baramulla town on Friday. On Wednesday the police recovered suspicious object near Pattan on Srinagar-Baramulla national highway and later defused it.
