Three people on two motorcycles were killed in a hit-and-run accident in Fatehgarh Sahib, police said on Sunday.
The deceased, Avtar Singh, Satwinder Singh and Mohan Singh, were residents of Bibipur village in Patiala.
Assistant sub-inspector Ram Singh, posted at Badali Ala Singh police station, said the trio was headed from Badali Ala Singh village in Fatehgarh Sahib to Bibipur village on Saturday night.
When they reached near Hindupur village, an SUV hit them from behind and drove off.
The impact of the crash was so severe that all three men died on the spot. After receiving information about the accident, a police team reached the spot and moved the bodies for post-mortem examination. Police are scanning CCTV footage to trace the SUV driver.
