Two men, arrested in connection to a theft case registered on Wednesday (November 23) have been sent to judicial custody. The accused arrested are identified as Ankush, 29, of Milk Colony, Dhanas and one Amit Singh Gill, 25, of Mohali.
The case, filed under Sections 379 and 411 of IPC at Sector 26 police station, was registered on complaint of Ramesh Kumar of Mani Majra.
The complainant reported that at 5:50 pm on Wednesday, while he was at roof top of SCO 32 in Sector 26, he spotted two youngsters coming down from stairs with plastic bag in their hands. On questioning, he found two silver coils and one compressor.
Accused Ankush was arrested on the spot while Amit had fled the scene, who was later arrested on Thursday on disclosure of Ankush.
Police said during interrogation Ankush revealed that he has also stolen a video camera and a still camera from a car parked near light point of Sector-19/27 towards Sector-27, for which a case was also lodged on August 21, under section 379 of IPC at Sector 26 police station.
The duo also admitted to have stolen sanitary ware from SCO in Sector 26, and the case in this regard was registered on September 26, under sections 457,380 of IPC at Sector 26 police station.

{{/usCountry}}Police said both the accused are drug addicts and to fill their desire, they targeted houses where number of newspapers are lying in court yard and are locked for days. The accused have 4 different cases of thefts registered against them in different police station of the city.
