Delhi LG visits Connaught Place, interacts with youth

Till now, the LG has undertaken such interactive exercises at Model Town, Vasant Vihar, Chittaranjan Park and Red Fort, among other places

New Delhi: Lieutenant governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Sunday visited the Central Delhi’s Connaught Place and took public suggestions on various issues gripping the Capital city, Lok Niwas officials said.

He also relished a meal at the famous Jain Chawal Wale at Baba Kharag Singh Marg while interacting with visitors on several issues including problems, careers, livelihoods and aspirations.

The LG also walked up to Keventers at the A Block in Connaught Place for a milk shake, and also witnessed first-hand status of sanitation and traffic, officials said.

Talking to people, the LG also asked for solutions to various issues, telling them that experience had taught him that governance had to be people-centric and solutions to people’s issues had to come from themselves, they added.

He reiterated that governance had to be “bottom-up”, rather than “top-down”, said officials.
