Ghaziabad: A 27-year-old tutor was arrested on Sunday for raping a 15-year-old girl in Vijay Nagar.
Ghaziabad: A 27-year-old tutor was arrested on Sunday for raping a 15-year-old girl in Vijay Nagar.
According to police, the victim’s father lodged the complaint on the intervening night of May 14 and 15 after his daughter complained about being assaulted by Arjun Batra during coaching classes. In the FIR, the complainant stated that his daughter seemed sad and upon being questioned she broke down and narrated the incident.
“When I asked her, she replied that the tutor forced her into physical relation and told that nothing will happen if she does as he says. She told that the tutor used to threaten whenever she objected to it and this led to her depression. She could not concentrate on her studies,” the FIR stated.
The girl is a student of a reputed school in Indirapuram and went to the coaching classes in a nearby high-rise in the same locality. Upon complaint, Batra was also thrashed by locals, after which he was handed over to the police.
“We lodged an FIR for rape and also levied provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The accused was arrested and produced before a court. The girl was also sent for medical examination and the reports are awaited,” said Neeraj Singh, station house officer, Vijay Nagar police station.
