Three people were killed and six others sustained injuries when a car collided with an auto-rickshaw in Gangapur city of Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur district, the police said on Wednesday.
The accident occurred on the Gangapur City–Sawai Madhopur highway on Tuesday evening. The police rushed to the spot and took the injured to Gangapur city hospital, where three of them were declared dead, while five injured were referred to Jaipur for advanced treatment.
Police said the auto-rickshaw lost control and collided with the car. The bodies were handed over to family members after post-mortem.
The deceased have been identified as Girraj Meena (55), Man Singh Gurjar (45), and Ram Kalyan Meena (40), all residents of Gangapur city.
The injured referred to Jaipur include Mohan Singh (23), Fool Kanwar (40), Pradeep Kumar (30), Bachchan Gurjar (45), and Maksood (18).
Banay Singh, in-charge of Gangapur city police station, confirmed the deaths and injuries, stating that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
