The civil court complex in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra received a bomb threat via email on Tuesday afternoon, prompting authorities to launch an extensive search of the premises after evacuating staff and others, officials said. Judicial work was temporarily halted, but it resumed after nothing suspicious was found, police said.

Mahadik Akshay Sanjay, additional police commissioner for the Hariparvat circle in Agra Police Commissionerate, led the search operation and later interacting with media said the threat to blow up the Agra district court was received through an email at 12:45 pm.
Based on the information, local police, LIU, a bomb disposal squad and personnel of the special security force evacuated the area, he said. “On receiving the threat, all gates of the court were closed, and a detailed search was conducted. All agencies were deployed to avoid any lapse. So far, nothing suspicious has been recovered,” the officer added.
“However, police alert will continue especially at exit and entry points,” he said. Mahadik did not divulge much details of the mail and said that sender was yet to be identified.
