: Schools in Budaun will remain closed every Saturday and Monday during the month of Shravan due to difficulties teachers and students face commuting amid route diversions for the Kanwar Yatra, officials said.

District magistrate has ordered the closure of all schools for Classes 1 to 8. This includes schools run by the Basic Education Council, aided and recognised schools, and schools affiliated with any board.
Naveen Kumar, District basic education officer, Budaun, said the decision was taken due to difficulties caused by route diversions implemented by the district administration for the Kanwar Yatra during Shravan. He said schools in the district had also remained closed in the past to avoid inconvenience.
He added that all school staff must ensure the timely completion of important and time-bound government and departmental schemes on these days. These include ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, uploading notifications for Eco Clubs, INSPIRE Award applications, APAAR ID generation, UDISE data entry and geo-tagging of planted saplings. The BSA directed all concerned to ensure strict compliance with the order in letter and spirit.
