Lucknow financial meet raises awareness on digital finance
The conference hosted five panel discussions on varied topics related to digital financial services and their awareness.
The Fifth International Financial Literacy Conclave was held at a city hotel, in Gomti Nagar, on Thursday. The conclave was organised by Awoke Foundation - an investor association focussing on working towards financial awareness, literacy and inclusion in the country - in association with Lucknow Management Association, among other national-level public and private organisations.
The conference hosted five panel discussions on varied topics related to digital financial services and their awareness. They included - challenges faced by farmers when using digital financial services, the youth and how they treat digital finance, women’s participation in digital financial inclusion, speed of adoption of digital finance by entrepreneurs and start-ups, and digitisation of the BSFI (banking, financial services and investment) sector.
Brajesh Pathak, deputy chief minister of UP, was the chief guest at the event and inaugurated the conclave. A prize distribution ceremony was also held, wherein, five winners of the annual Financial Inclusion and Literacy Leadership Awards from across the country were felicitated.
The panel discussions included guests from other states, as well as those joining online. The panel included speakers from national and international organisations and agencies, and over 200 people were in attendance from different professional backgrounds. Since its first edition in 2018, this event has been hosted in Lucknow, but according to Sunita Paul, vice-president of Awoke Foundation, the organisers are considering hosting the 2023 edition in New Delhi.
