Lucknow: U.P deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Tuesday emphasised on restoring the trust of industrialists in the state which was earlier infamous as a ‘Bimaru’ state (lagging in terms of economic growth, healthcare and education)’ but was now emerging as one of the biggest economies in the country.

Addressing the ‘Samriddh Uttar Pradesh’ conclave organised by a media house in the state capital, Pathak said that before 2017, UP was anarchy-infested but was now becoming famous as a state with firm law and order because the Yogi government had reined in the mafia and criminals.
“Our government has been hard on gangsters, criminals, mafia and law-breakers and now the state has also become number one in punishment to accused in criminal cases. There is rule of law and the state’s image has changed”, he said.
Pathak, who also is the health minister of UP, enumerated the achievements of the Yogi government in education, health, power, rural development and other sectors. He said that soon the state would have as many as 17 international airports.
Pathak said that in the health sector, the state had made rapid progress and added that the government had set a target to provide tap water to every rural household in the state by 2024.
