Uttar Pradesh reported 132 new Covid cases, while 261 patients recovered in the past 24-hours.
“State now has 1709 active Covid cases,” said Amit Mohan Prasad, additional chief secretary, medical health, in a press statement on Wednesday.
UP’s total Covid caseload has reached 2069494 against 105510440 Covid samples tested till now, including 144383 samples tested in the past 24-hours.
Among new cases, Lucknow reported 28 new Covid cases, Gautam Budha Nagar 21, Lakhimpur Khiri 10. One death was reported from Prayagraj among Covid patients. In all, 31 districts, including Gorakhpur and Mathura reported zero fresh cases.
“The recovery rate in the state is 98.78%. Till now, 2044299 patients have recovered in Uttar Pradesh, while 23486 deaths have been reported,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary-general association of international doctors.
Shifting of gynaecology department
From Thursday, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Paediatric surgery of the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences will start functioning from the Ram Prakash Gupta Mother and Child Referral centre on the Shaheed path, said a press statement from the PR cell of the institute.
These departments were shifted from the Shaheed Path campus to the main campus in Gomti Nagar after the Shaheed Path campus was made a Covid facility during the first wave. All the facilities, including OPD and indoor patient admission, will run along with the admission facility at 200 beds.
