Mumbai The Ghatkopar police have registered an FIR following a complaint lodged by a 69-year-old man against his son for allegedly transferring ₹43.15 lakh through online banking from his three bank accounts in the last eight years without his knowledge.

The father alleged that his son had fraudulently obtained his signatures on gift deeds, declaring that he had gifted his entire bank balance and the house, where he resided, to his son. He alleged that the accused son obtained his signature on the documents without informing him. He further alleged that his son had recently evicted from the house and was not also taking care of him.

According to the police, the senior citizen, who is presently staying at his married daughter’s place, alleged in his complaint that apart from transferring amount from his three bank accounts between year 2014 to 2021, his son also kept original documents of his provident fund, recurring deposits, Kisan Vikas Patra purchased by him and also the mutual funds and gold ornaments, thus duping him of ₹65.60 lakhs in all.

The senior citizen had approached the local metropolitan magistrate court and based on the court’s order, the police have registered the FIR against his son and daughter-in-law for cheating and breach of trust.

Further investigation is going on, said a police officer.
