CM launches anti-drug campaign for Navi Mumbai students

The campaign, inaugurated at D Y Patil University in Nerul, drew participation from 250 colleges. Students also participated online.

Navi Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched ‘Campus Connect’ on Saturday, a Navi Mumbai police initiative designed to keep students away from narcotics and make them active participants in the fight against drugs. As part of the campaign, every school and college in the region will form anti-narcotics committees.

The campaign, inaugurated at D Y Patil University in Nerul, drew participation from 250 colleges. Students also participated online.

Fadnavis, who led a drug-free pledge during the programme, called the fight against drugs a collective battle for society and the country. “The campaign involves 20 departments, including police, health, and food and drug authorities, combining awareness with action against drug networks and supply chains, alongside rehabilitation,” the chief minister said.

Police commissioner Milind Bharambe said, “Every voice matters, and every creative idea has the power to inspire change. Through art and digital storytelling, students can play a vital role in building a drug-free society.”

A 10-bed de-addiction and rehabilitation centre and a dedicated helpline (8828 112 1120) were also launched that day.
