MUMBAI: The police have booked a man from Sangli for abatement after a 32-year-old man died by suicide at the Kalina police headquarters in Santacruz East on Sunday.

According to the Vakola police, the deceased was a resident of Parbhani district in Maharashtra and was recruited on February 7 for a driver’s post in the police department. He was undergoing training in Kalina when he took the extreme step, and police officers added that they found a suicide note in his pocket.

As per the police, the deceased was in a relationship with a woman but her parents did not allow him to marry her. Based on his father’s complaint, the police registered an FIR against the woman’s father on Monday.
