MUMBAI: In view of the local self-government elections scheduled in the state on December 2, the University of Mumbai has postponed its examinations. As per the notification, all exams originally scheduled between December 1 and 4 will now be held from December 16 to 19.

Taking into account that the teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as college premises, are routinely deployed for election duties, the higher education department had instructed all non-agricultural colleges to avoid conducting exams from December 1 to 4. The rescheduled papers include Semester 3 and 5 exams for various courses. The change affects students in areas under the Mumbai University’s jurisdiction, including Thane, Palghar, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts, where local municipal council elections are to take place.
