Mumbai A Nala Sopara resident jumped in front of a Churchgate local on Sunday morning along with his three-year-old son, killing the child. Raju Waghela (32) survived the suicide attempt and is admitted in a local hospital.

As per the statement to the Government Railway Police (GRP), Vasai, Waghela has been unemployed for a while and would often fight with his wife over the issue. For the past year, his wife has been staying in Gujarat because of his joblessness. Frustrated and depressed, Waghela decided to end his life, along with his only child.

“We were informed by the Vasai traffic control after the loco pilot informed them. We sent the body for post mortem and are investigating further. The wife of the injured has been informed and she is on the way from Bhavnagar to identify her son’s body,” a GRP official said.
