NAVI MUMBAI: After a 29-year-old worker died after falling from the 27th floor of an under-construction building in Vashi last week, police registered an FIR on May 5 against the developer and contractor for negligence.

The incident occurred on April 28 at around 4 pm at a construction site in Sector 9A. The deceased, identified as Imran Ibrahim Khan, a native of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, was working at the site at the time.
According to preliminary findings, Khan had been engaged in Plaster of Paris (POP) fitting work along with his younger brother, Kamran (20).
“Imran was standing on a makeshift arrangement of an iron ladder placed over support planks—while using a drilling machine to fix POP sheets. He reportedly lost balance and fell from the high-rise, sustaining severe head and body injuries that proved fatal,” said the investigating officer.
A case has been registered at Vashi police station under Sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
