GREATER NOIDA: A 12-foot-long Indian rock python was rescued from an under-construction site in Greater Noida following a four-hour-long operation carried out by a team from Wildlife SOS, officials said on Wednesday.

The reptile was discovered inside a narrow sewer pipe at a construction site in the NRI Township area near the Yamuna Expressway.

Security personnel at the site alerted the Wildlife SOS emergency helpline after noticing the snake, which had reportedly been moving through nearby open plots and construction zones in search of shelter.

“After sustained efforts lasting nearly four hours, the python was safely retrieved. Following the rescue, the snake was transported to the Wildlife SOS facility, where it underwent medical evaluation,” said Kartick Satyanarayan, co-founder and chief executive officer of Wildlife SOS, in a statement.
