Four arrested for gambling in Ludhiana

The investigating officer, Bhupinder Singh of Sarabha Nagar police station, said the police team was patrolling near the cremation ground in Sunet village, Ludhiana, when they received a tip-off, around 8 pm, that a few people were gambling in the park, following which they conducted a raid and arrested the accused

The city police on Saturday arrested four persons on the charges of gambling at a park in Sunet village and recovered ₹6,480 from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Jagdish Kumar of Sunet, Kaamta, Sohan Singh and Mohammad Feroz - residents of Ludhiana.

The investigating officer, Bhupinder Singh of Sarabha Nagar police station, said the police team was patrolling near the cremation ground at Sunet village when they received a tip-off, around 8 pm, that a few people were gambling in the park, following which they conducted a raid and arrested the accused.

He said, “The accused have been booked under Sections 13,3 and 67 of the Gambling Act.”
