An iron rod and broken parts of a heater used in the crime had been recovered, police said. Those arrested were identified as Manish aka Bheem Yadav, Sumit Kesarwani, Akash Jaiswal and Rohit Jaiswal, the DCP said. “The accused told the police during questioning that they often used to consume liquor at a room behind Ankit’ shop in Tiwari Market,” he added.

“On January 29 night too, they consumed liquor with Ankit. However, Ankit had an altercation with Sumit, Akash and Rohit over payment of snacks and biryani they had ordered. Ankit allegedly started abusing and misbehaving with them. In a fit of rage, all four accused assaulted Ankit and hit him on the head with an iron rod. The accused left the spot but Manish Yadav returned again and hit Ankit with an electric heater to ensure that he was dead,” the DCP said.
