Lakhs of devotees offer prayers at KV temple in Kashi on second Monday of Shrawan month

Over six lakh devotees offered prayers at Kashi Vishwanath temple on the second Monday of the Shrawan month.

Chanting Har Har Mahadev and Bam Bam Bholey, many of the devotees stood in long queues while others were seen walking from the ghat to sanctum sanctorum of the KV temple. Several of them were seen dancing on devotional numbers dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The administration rolled out a red-carpet welcome for the devotees at the Kashi Vishwanath Dham and several arrangements had been made for them, including potable water facility.
Social activist Rajesh Shukla and deputy commissioner of police, Kashi zone, Ramsevak Gautam offered drinking water to the devotees coming to the KV temple. According to reports, by 1 pm, more than four lakh devotees had performed ‘jalabhishek’ at the KV temple.
Rush of devotees was also seen outside other temples, including Mrityunjay Mahadev, Gauri Kedareshwar, Tilbhandeshwar, Omkareshwar, Markandey Mahadev, Vishwanath Temple, BHU, Sarangnath Mahadev, Shooltankeshwar Mahadev, Rameshwar Mahadev.
