The bandh was supported by various traders, students, teachers, employees’ organizations of the city.

The call was given by the lawyers to mark their protest against the Education Service Tribunal Bill, which proposes to set up the principal seat of this tribunal at Lucknow instead of the Sangam city.

A mammoth meeting was organized at the Civil Lines crossing of the city, where apart from lawyers, traders, students, employees, teachers and others addressed the gathering.

The speakers vehemently criticized the government for transferring all important organizations from Prayagraj to Lucknow one by one, thereby reducing the importance of this historical city. They also lamented the effort to curtail the jurisdiction of Allahabad high court in the name of tribunals.

Subsequently, in a meeting of HCBA, which was presided over by the president of HCBA, Amrendra Nath Singh and conducted by the secretary Prabha Shankar Mishra, it was resolved to continue boycott of judicial work on Wednesday on the same issue.
