A woman teacher died and four others were injured in a road accident in Bhojpur district on Saturday after a mixer machine attached to a speeding pickup truck got detached and collided with the auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling, police said.
Police said the incident occurred near Sikraul under Sikrahata police station limits. One of the injured has been identified as the mother of the deceased teacher.
The deceased was identified as Roshan Jahan (38), wife of Saidullah alias Javed Ali, a resident of Azimabad. She was posted as a teacher in Sikandarpur under Danapur block of Patna district. Jahan had come to her maternal village, Sikrahata Khurd, about a month and a half ago for childbirth.
The injured include her mother Naseema Khatun, a sarpanch, Sushmita Kumari, daughter of Vijay Ram of Moap Khurd village, and two other young men.
According to police, Roshan Jahan was going to Piro with her mother in an auto-rickshaw to get polio drops administered to her twin children when the accident took place.
On receiving information, a police team reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. Station House Officer (SHO) of Sikrahata police station, Sanoj Kumar, confirmed the incident.
