Preventive action against 17 persons ahead of celebrations at Bhima Koregaon in Pune on January 1

Action was taken in Baudhhanagar and Bhatnagar area of the commissionerate by the police teams on patrolling duty

The Pimpri-Chinchwad police carried out a massive combing operation during the past forty-eight hours (Thursday and Friday) and took preventive action (detention of 24 hours) against seventeen criminals and detained 32 others, ahead of the January 1 celebrations at Bhima Koregaon and New Year celebrations across the city.

The action was taken in Baudhhanagar and Bhatnagar area of the commissionerate between 12 am to 3 am by the police teams on patrolling duty ordered by Pimpri Chinchwad police commissioner Sandeep Bishnoi.

Senior police inspector Shankar Babar said, “We have taken preventive action (detention of 24 hours) against seventeen criminals and detained 32 others under relevant sections of the Bombay Police Act.”

The police have intensified patrolling and are carrying out regular nakabandi operations to prevent any untoward incident in at Bhima Koregaon and other areas.
