6-year-old killed in hit-and-run by speeding car

PUNE A 6-year-old child was killed in a hit-and-run accident by a speeding car in Kunjirwadi area of Haveli, Pune on Sunday evening.

The deceased child was identified as Arohi Jeevan Kalbhor, 6, a resident of Kalbhor Vasti in Kunjirwadi area of Haveli, Pune. The incident happened around 6:15pm on Sunday when the child was on the road near her house. The car was speeding from Solapur towards Pune, according to the police.

The car driver who hit the child and fled could not be identified immediately.

A case under Sections 279, 304(a) of Indian Penal Code along with Sections 184, 132(1)(c), and 119/177 of Motor Vehicle Act has been registered at Loni Kalbhor police station.
