The Nagpur police on Tuesday night raided a printing press located in Hingna MIDC area for allegedly publishing unauthorised Balbharati textbooks and seized materials worth approximately ₹20,000. The seized stock includes approximately 10,000 unauthorised copies of textbooks.
The action followed a complaint lodged by Rakesh Potdukhe, an official of the Maharashtra State Bureau of Textbook Production and Curriculum Research (Balbharati). Balbharati textbooks are officially printed through authorised contractors to ensure quality and authenticity. Pratibha Printers was reportedly printing unauthorised copies of Balbharati textbooks for Classes 9 to 12.
Anuradha Oak, director, Balbharati, said, “We alerted police about unauthorised printing and filed a complaint. Anyone found violating regulations will face strict legal consequences.”
