Pune: In the second similar incident in the last 48 hours, a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus driver was attacked by a car driver in Mundhwa.
According to the police, Irba Maruti Ebitdar (30) of Kesnand Road in Wagholi was driving a PMPML bus from Magarpatta to Wagholi route on Monday. The rear end of the public transport bus scrapped a car coming from the opposite direction near Bosch car service centre at Mundhwa Chowk.
The car driver stopped his vehicle in front of the bus and started abusing its driver. He later came out of his four-wheeler and physically assaulted the PMPML driver.
Pramod Kolekar, sub-inspector, Mundhwa police station, said, “Initially, there was heated arguments between both the drivers that escalated into the accused abusing and beating up the bus driver. We have filed a complaint against the unknown car driver who will be nabbed soon.”
A case has been registered at Mundhwa police station under Sections 353, 332 and 504 of the IPC.
On Sunday, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police arrested three persons for causing chaos and damaging a PMPML bus and a car, besides thrashing the bus driver, in Bavdhan.
